Welcome
to my wonderful world of gourds. I have been hooked on gourds ever
since buying a gourd art book at a garage sale about 20 years ago. So
far, it's been an incredible journey. From festivals to art shows,
grower's markets, galleries, competitions, teaching classes, giving
seminars, etc. Well, you get the idea, and I'm sharing it with you in
pictures. Look through my galleries and see all the beautiful shapes
and sizes of gourds. See the many different techniques used. I have
even developed special applications such as the "stoned" look and my
own gourd pulp paper. I use pyrography, oils, acrylics, semi-precious
stones, inlaid metals, and about anything else I can think of as an
enhancement, though gourds are very beautiful on their own. It is
always challenging and interesting to work on gourds. I know I'll
never get bored because gourds let you experiment and stretch your
imagination as far as you want. It is very gratifying to see gourds
get the artistic recognition they deserve. This artist is grateful to
have found something which truly enriches her life and gives so much
enjoyment. I hope that I have sparked your interest in gourds and that
you will find them as enchanting as I do.
